Porites

Dense, heavy skeleton with tiny polyps sunk into pinhole-sized pits — mounding, branching, or the smooth 'jawbreaker' form.

• Fairly uniform color across the whole colony; pale green, purple and tan are most common
• Pinprick polyp pits over an otherwise smooth stony surface
• Often the coral hosting Christmas tree worms — the worms are a strong circumstantial tell
